RECRUITMENT
IN ASSAM RIFLES
1. Assam Rifles recruitment rally will be held at Jorhat (Assam), NRS-Jorhat
Town from 10 Dec 2012 onwards for enrolment to 356 vacancies (male
candidates) of following posts mentioned
against each :-

Note
:
(i) Distribution of vacancies will be based
on the policy issued by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
(ii) These vacancies are tentative and may
increase or decrease.
(iii) The vacancies so notified are subject to
variation and the Department has right to make any change in the advertisement
or cancel it without assigning any reasons.
(iv)
10% vacancies are reserved for
Ex-servicemen in each category which has not been shown separately.
2. This notice is also available on the
official website of the Assam Rifles
www.assamrifles.gov.in.
3. Candidate seeking reservation benefits
as SC/ST/OBC must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation as per
eligibility prescribed in the Notice.
They should be in possession of the certificates in the format
prescribed by Government of India in support of their claim at the time of
reporting for PST/PET.
4. CANDIDATE BELONGING TO THE PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED CATEGORY ARE NOT
ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THIS EXAMINATION.
5. Only a single application will be
entertained. Candidature in respect of
multiple applications will be rejected outright without any notice to such
candidates.
6. “APPLICATION FOR TECHNICAL TRADES (CLKs
AND PAs) RALLY AT JORHAT (ASSAM)” be endorsed on top of the cover under which
the application is being submitted.
7. Applications will be accepted only by post.
8. MOBILES AND OTHER ELECTRONIC GADGETS
ARE BANNED WITHIN THE PREMISES OF RALLY SITES/TEST CENTRE.

9. Qualitative Requirement The Qualitative Requirement (QR) for
enrolment into aforequoted trades is as stated hereunder :-

10. Age .
Between 18 to 23 years as on 1st Aug 2012. Upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST
Candidates.
11. Calculation of Upper Age Limit for
Ex-servicemen. Actual age minus service
plus 3 years should be within the upper age limit of 23/26 and 28 years.
12. Physical Standard
(a) Height. Minimum height of candidates
falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and
candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh,
Manipur, Tripura, Meghalaya, Assam,
Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh regions of J & K will be 165
cms. The minimum height for Scheduled
Tribes will be 162.5 cms.
(b) Chest. The minimum chest of candidates
falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and
candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh,
Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh
& Ladakh regions of J & K will be 78 cms (minimum 5 cms
expansion). The minimum chest for all
candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be 76 cms (minimum 5 cms expansion).
(c) Others.
170 cms (Height), 80-85 cms (Chest) & Weight according to height and
age.
13. Physical Efficiency Test.
(a) 5 Km run - Candidates
to qualify within 24 Minutes.
(b) 11 ft long jump -
Candidates to qualify in
maximum 3 chances.
(c) 3 ½ ft high jump
(d) NO PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST WILL BE HELD FOR
EX-SERVICEMEN. HOWEVER, EX-SERVICEMEN WILL BE REQUIRED TO
PASS THE REQUISITE MED EXAMINATION.
14. Written Test. The written test will consist of only OMR
based objective type multiple choice questions to be answered using a pen. The
question paper will be of 100 marks.
15. Pay Scale. Pay scale and other allowances will be as
admissible to Assam Rifles Personnel.
16. Merit List and Call for Training.
The candidates who qualify in all respects will be placed in merit list
depending on the category wise vacancies allocated to states. Instruction to join the Training Centre for
enrolment will be issued on the basis of Merit List.

17. How to Apply. Candidates shall submit their applications by
20 Nov 2012 as per the attached format to the address mentioned below along
with a Demand Draft for Rs. 50/- (Rupees
fifty only) in favour of the Directorate General Assam Rifles payable at SBI DGAR, Shillong, Code No. 7338. Applications received after 20 Nov 2012 will
not be entertained. SC and ST candidates
are exempted from application fee. No
cash/postal order will be accepted.

Guidelines
and Instructions for filling application form :-
1. Each particular to appear on a new line
and end with‘:’ (colon).
2. Do not use more than one line for
details. All details to be in CAPITAL letters only. Example – NAME: SUBHASH CHANDRA.
3. Use only ‘Arial’ or ‘Verdana’ Fonts for print out and do not use more than one font. Font size should be between 10 and 14. Do not make it bold, italics or
underline. All forms need to be ‘printed or typed ’. No hand-written forms will be accepted.
4. Information of all fields to be
supplied for fast processing. Use only black ink to print the application.
Incorrect form will not be considered for further processing.
5. Demand Draft for Rs 50/- (Rupees fifty only) (applicable to
General and OBC candidates only) in favour of the Directorate General Assam
Rifles, on SBI DGAR, Shillong, Code No. 7338 be enclosed with this application
for issue of call letter. Bank demand
draft issued by other than SBI as well as postal orders will not be accepted.
