Note :

4.         CANDIDATE BELONGING TO THE  PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED CATEGORY ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THIS EXAMINATION.

5.         Only a single application will be entertained.  Candidature in respect of multiple applications will be rejected outright without any notice to such candidates.

6.         “APPLICATION FOR TECHNICAL TRADES (CLKs AND PAs) RALLY  AT  JORHAT (ASSAM)”  be endorsed on top of the cover under which the application is being submitted.

9.         Qualitative Requirement  The Qualitative Requirement (QR) for enrolment into aforequoted trades is as stated hereunder :-

10.       Age .  Between 18 to 23 years as on 1st Aug 2012.  Upper age limit is relaxable  by 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST Candidates.

11.       Calculation of Upper Age Limit for Ex-servicemen.  Actual age minus service plus 3 years should be within the upper age limit of 23/26 and 28 years.

12.       Physical Standard

(a)        Height. Minimum height of candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura,  Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh regions of J & K will be 165 cms.  The minimum height for Scheduled Tribes will be 162.5 cms.


(b)        Chest. The minimum chest of candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh regions of J & K will be 78 cms (minimum 5 cms expansion).  The minimum chest for all candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be     76 cms (minimum 5 cms expansion).

(c)        Others.  170 cms (Height), 80-85 cms (Chest) & Weight according to height and age.

13.       Physical Efficiency Test.

(a)        5 Km run                     -           Candidates to qualify within 24 Minutes.
(b)        11 ft long jump         -             Candidates to qualify in maximum 3 chances.
(c)        3 ½ ft high jump

(d)       NO PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST WILL BE HELD FOR EX-SERVICEMEN.  HOWEVER, EX-SERVICEMEN WILL BE REQUIRED TO PASS THE REQUISITE MED EXAMINATION.

14.                   Written Test.  The written test will consist of only OMR based objective type multiple choice questions to be answered using a pen. The question paper will be of 100 marks.

15.                   Pay Scale.  Pay scale and other allowances will be as admissible to Assam Rifles Personnel.

16.                   Merit List and Call  for Training.  The candidates who qualify in all respects will be placed in merit list depending on the category wise vacancies allocated to states.   Instruction to join the Training Centre for enrolment will be issued on the basis of Merit List.

17.       How to Apply.  Candidates shall submit their applications by 20 Nov 2012 as per the attached format to the address mentioned below along with a Demand Draft for  Rs. 50/- (Rupees fifty only) in favour of the Directorate General Assam Rifles payable at  SBI DGAR, Shillong, Code No. 7338.   Applications received after 20 Nov 2012 will not be entertained.  SC and ST candidates are exempted from application fee.  No cash/postal order will be accepted.

Guidelines and Instructions for filling application form :-

1. Applications are invited from female candidates who have passed PG/
PB B Sc/B Sc Nursing for grant of Short Service Commission in the Military
Nursing Service.
2. Nationality - Must be a citizen of India (Also the Spouse, if married).
3. Qualification & Registration: Should have passed PG/PB B Sc/B Sc
Nursing from INC recognized University and be a registered Nurse and Midwife
from a State Nursing Council.
4. Date of Birth - Between 07 Mar 1978 and 31 Dec 1992 (Both days
inclusive).
5. Physical Fitness: Medical fitness will be assessed as per Military
Standards by Military Authorities. X-Ray examination of Chest and USG (of
abdomen) will be done. The physical fitness of selected candidates will finally be
determined by a Medical Board under arrangement made by the office of
DGAFMS.
6. Method of Selection: Eligible candidates will be called for a written
test to be conducted at Delhi during the second week of Dec 2012. A required
number (not more than three times of vacancies) of qualified candidates (in the
written test), in the order of merit will be called for interview. Candidates qualified
in interview will be subjected to Medical Examination. The total process may
take 3-4 days. The candidates called for interview will be paid Sleeper class
Railway fare from the place of residence to the place of examination centre and
back as per AI 17/96 amended from time to time.
7. Marital status: Single/Married/Divorcee/Widow
8. Employability: Candidates selected for grant of SSC in the MNS will
be liable to serve for five years extendable to a total tenure of fourteen (5+5+4)
years, anywhere in India in the same way as Military Nursing Service (Regular)
Officers of the Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force).
9. Emoluments: On completion of the pre-commissioning formalities,
the candidates will be granted the rank of Lieutenant with the monthly Basic
Pay of Rs 15,600 + Grade Pay Rs 5,400/- +Military Service Pay- Rs 4,200/-
+ DA and other Allowance as per prevailing rates. Entitled ration,
accommodation and allied facilities will also be offered.
10. Promotion:
(a) Promotion of Short Service Commissioned Nursing Officers is as

Nursing Profession after fully qualifying as nurse midwife in a Govt
recognized Hospital/Medical College/Health Institute subject to a max
of 2 years antedate and provided that previous service was not terminated
on grounds of unsuitability / misconduct / profound professional
negligence / indiscipline / any other disciplinary ground. The period of
antedate will neither carry any back pay in any case nor will it count for
gratuity as per rules.
11. Permanent Commission: SSC Officers of the MNS will be considered
for grant of permanent commission as per existing rules as amended from time
to time. They will be subjected to interview by a Selection Board duly constituted
for the purpose. However, the grant of Permanent Commission will be subject to
availability of vacancies in the Cadre.
12. How to apply: Application to be typed in Block letters on A4 size paper
as per the format given in this advertisement with passport size photo attested
and duly pasted in the space provided. Applications received on newspaper cutting
or its photocopy will not be accepted.

1. Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from all the Districts of State of West Bengal and State of Sikkim to become airmen. The Recruitment Test for Group „X (Technical) trades will be held at Behrampore Stadium, Behrampore, Murshidabad (West Bengal) from 04 November 2012 to 07 November 2012 as per the Selection Programme given below.
2. SELECTION PROGRAMME. The Recruitment Test will be conducted from 7 AM onwards as per the details given below. Candidates reporting up to 10 AM at the Rally Venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Test.

3. DATE OF BIRTH BLOCK. Candidates should be born between 01 January 1992 to 31 March 1996 (both days inclusive).
4. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
(a) Candidate should have passed Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
OR
(b) Three year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics or Automobile or Computer Science or Instrumentation Technology or Information Technology) with at least 50% marks in overall aggregate from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute.
Note: - Exact aggregate percentage of marks up to first place of decimal for all subjects as mentioned in the Marks Sheet of Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent will only be considered (For example, 49.9% should NOT be rounded off to 50%).
5. DOMICILE REQUIREMENT.
(a) To be eligible to appear in the rally at Behrampore Stadium, Behrampore, Murshidabad (West Bengal) the candidates are required to satisfy the following conditions:
(i) Should have passed the qualifying examination from any of the RECOGNISED BOARDS/UNIVERSITY.
(ii) The School/College/Polytechnic Institute from where candidates have passed the qualifying examination should be within the geographical/ administrative limits of the STATE OF BENGAL or SIKKIM. If the name of District is not mentioned with the name of Institution in the certificate / mark sheet of qualifying examination, the candidates are to produce „DOMICILE CERTIFICATE from appropriate authority as explained in sub-para (iii) below.
(iii) Permanent Domicile of the State of Bengal or Sikkim who have passed the qualifying examination from anywhere in India. However, such candidates have to produce the Domicile Certificate prior to commencement of examination from appropriate authority as explained below:
(ai) State of West Bengal (Domicile Certificate issued by DM or any other official authorized by the State Government of West Bengal only will be accepted)
OR
(aii) State of Sikkim (Domicile Certificate issued by DM / SDM /Tehsildar or any other official authorized by the State Government of Sikkim only will be accepted).
(b) Sons of Serving/Retired/Discharged/ Deceased Air Force Personnel, irrespective of their domicile status may be permitted to appear in the rally subject to submission of Son of Air Force Personnel Certificate as a proof in the following categories: -
(i) Father/Mother is presently serving in any Air Force Unit located in the State of West Bengal or Sikkim.
(ii) Ex-IAF personnel/families of deceased personnel who are residing in the State of West Bengal or Sikkim (on production of proof of minimum stay of one year and Original and one photocopy of discharge book).
6. MEDICAL STANDARDS :-
(a) General Medical Standards for Group „X (Technical) trades are as follows: -
(i) Height: Minimum height required is 152.5 cms.
(ii) Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm
(iii) Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
(iv) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) not acceptable.
(v) Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.
(vi) Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.
(vii) Health: Candidate should be free from medical or surgical deformity. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.

7. Candidates discharged from the Armed Forces on any ground or dismissed from any Government Organisation for any reason earlier are NOT eligible to appear in the rally.
8. WRITING MATERIALS AND DOCUMENTS REQUIRED. Candidates are to bring the following:-
(a) HB Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener, Gum tube, Stapler and Black/Blue Ball Point Pen for writing.
(b) Seven copies of recent front portrait (without headgear except for Sikh) passport-size (5 cm X 4 cm) colour photograph taken on or after 04 August 2012. Photographs should be on good quality “photo paper”.
(c) Two unstamped self addressed 24x10 cm white envelopes of good quality.
(d) Original and three photocopies of each of all educational certificates and mark sheets and domicile as well as NCC certificates (if applicable).
Under any circumstances the candidates will not be permitted to appear in the Selection Test without Original Matriculation pass certificate, Intermediate Mark sheet, Intermediate pass certificate and Domicile Certificate. However, candidates with photocopies of Matriculation pass certificate, Intermediate Mark sheet and Intermediate pass certificate can be permitted to appear in the Selection Test only on production of a certificate from College/School Principal certifying that Educational Certificates/Mark sheets are deposited with College/School.
(e) Consent Form: (as per the format given below) Candidates are to bring the “Consent Form to the Examination Venue and submit it before the Physical Fitness Test. 9. TENURE & TRAINING. Enrolment is for an initial period of 20 years extendable up to the age of 57 years. Initially candidates will be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) for 12 weeks at Basic Training Institute, Belgaum (Karnataka). On successful completion of JBPT candidates will be sent for trade training of specified durations. Training is however liable to be terminated at any time if the trainee fails to achieve the required standards in academics, profession, physical fitness and discipline or is found to be medically unfit. After successful completion of training, the airmen will be deployed on ground based jobs as per their allotted trades.
10. PAY & ALLOWANCES. During training, a stipend of Rs. 8,550/-pm will be paid. On completion of training, starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Dearness Allowance (DA), for Group „X (Technical) trades will be Rs. 20,542/-per month (approximately) [Pay in Pay Band – (Rs. 7,050/-) + Grade Pay – (Rs. 2,000/-) + Military Service Pay (MSP) – Rs. 2,000/- + X Group Pay – (Rs. 1,400/-) + DA @ 65% - Rs. 8,092/-)] which, in subsequent years, may rise up to Rs. 36,250/-per month (approximately) [(Pay in Pay Band – (Rs. 13,770/-) + Grade Pay – (Rs. 4,800/-) + Military
Service Pay (MSP) – (Rs. 2,000/-) + X Group Pay – (Rs. 1,400/-) + DA @ 65% - (Rs. 14,280/-)] as per sixth pay commission depending upon the rank attained. Other allowances such as Transport allowance, Composite personal maintenance allowance (CPMA), Leave Ration allowance (LRA), Family planning allowance, HRA etc. are also admissible to airmen.
11. Perquisites. Perks such as Ration, Clothing, Medical facilities, Accommodation, CSD Canteen facilities, Leave (60 days Annual and 30 days Casual in a Calendar year as a privilege), Education concession to children, Recreational facilities, Free transport for school going children and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) are also provided as per the existing rules. Notwithstanding the above, Group Insurance Cover of Rs. 25, 00,000/- at a premium of Rs. 1,730/- per month is covered for all airmen and facility of Group Housing Scheme is also extended. Other facilities by Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) are also extended to the family of airmen.
12. Post-Retirement Benefits. Pension, Medical Insurance Cover, Gratuity and Canteen facilities comprise some of the post-retirement benefits. Specialized Pre-release Courses are also arranged to enable airmen to take up post-retirement careers. In addition, airmen also get relaxation in age and reservation in Government services as Ex-servicemen.
13. PROMOTION. Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Warrant Officer (MWO). Opportunities to become a Commissioned Officer also exist for those airmen who qualify the prescribed examinations, later during their service career.
14. JOB SPECIFICATION Group „X (Technical) trades involve jobs as given below:
(a) Automobile Fitter. In this trade you are responsible for maintenance and repair of all type of light and heavy duty mechanical vehicles, cranes and loading equipment etc.
(b) Electronics Fitter. As an Electronics Fitter you operate and maintain Radar, Voice and Data transmission and reception equipment mounted on latest airborne weapon delivery systems and ground based air defense systems. You will get trained in Digital Electronics, measuring instruments, radar technology, latest electronics devices and related trade fundamentals.
(c) Electrical Fitter. You will maintain power supply system of latest types of aircraft, airborne missiles and associated ground systems. You will also maintain photo equipment mounted on air borne weapon systems and operate ground based photo systems. You will get trained in electrical trade, operation and maintenance of digital devices, electronic devices etc.
(d) Mechanical System Fitter. You will repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems of airborne missiles, engines, automobiles and aircraft fuelling equipment. Complete aircraft ground support equipment will also be repaired and maintained by you. You will be trained in handling and preparation of bombs and explosives and in electrical system, workshop and mechanical trades as well as automobile mechanics.
(e) Structures Fitter. As Structures Fitter you are responsible for the maintenance and servicing of airframes and their accessories, components and controls of aircraft. Regular checks for the entire hydraulic and pneumatic system to ensure proper functioning against leaks are also part of your duties. You will also be assigned the responsibility of marshaling, parking, picketing and ground handling of aircraft.
(f) Propulsion Fitter. In this trade you will repair, maintain and prepare for use the propulsion system of aircraft and other airborne weapon delivery system.
(g) Workshop Fitter (Smith). You will undertake major structural repairs of all aircraft at central repair facilities. You will also be trained in workshop trade for material treatment, welding, heat treatment, smithy and basic machine tools etc.
(h) Workshop Fitter (Mechanical). You will undertake repair and maintenance work of mechanical nature. You will be trained in workshop trade and practices.
(j) Weapon Fitter. In this trade, you will prepare, maintain and service armaments, ammunition and safety equipment of aircraft, missiles and other weapon delivery systems. You will also operate and maintain small arms and bomb destruction equipment. You will be trained to handle bombs, explosives, arms and their installation on weapon delivery platforms.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
15. VERIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY. Original Certificates, Mark Sheets and other required documents {NCC „A, „B or „C certificate, Son of Air Force personnel certificate (SOAFP), Domicile certificate etc.) will be scrutinized and verified at the examination venue prior to commencement of Written Test to ascertain the prima-facie eligibility. Detailed verification will be carried out in respect of candidates who pass Written Test later.
SEQUENCE OF EXAMINATION
16. WRITTEN TEST. Written test will be objective type and question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English Paper. Duration of the Written Test will be 60 minutes. Written test will be conducted in English, Physics & Mathematics as per CBSE syllabus of AISSCE.
CANDIDATES ARE TO QUALIFY IN EACH PAPER SEPARATELY. Results of the written test will be declared on the same day.
17. PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST (PFT). All candidates who pass the written test are to undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) on the same or the next day. PFT consists of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes. Candidates completing the PFT in less than 7 minutes 30 seconds will be awarded additional marks on a sliding scale. Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts.
18. INTERVIEW. Candidates who have passed the written test and PFT will be interviewed. Working knowledge of English is a prerequisite.
19. TRADE ALLOCATION TEST (TAT). Candidates of Group „X (Technical) trades who qualify in interview are to undergo Trade Allocation Test for bifurcation into Mechanical and Electronics stream. Specific trade allotment within these streams will be carried out at Basic Training Institute (BTI), Air Force (Belgaum).
20. MEDICAL EXAMINATION. Medical examination will be conducted as per IAF medical standards for recruitment as airmen by medical officers of the Armed Forces. Candidates declared Medically Unfit can avail the option for Appeal Medical Board (AMB) against their Unfitness by depositing Rs. 40/- in a Government Treasury/RBI/SBI through Military Receivable Order (MRO). The application for AMB along with original copy of MRO, Xerox copy of Unfitness Certificate and Postal Stamp worth Rs. 25/- affixed on a self-addressed envelope are to be submitted to 4 Airmen Selection Centre (Near Palta Gate), Air Force Station Barrackpore (West Bengal) for processing within seven working days from the date of issue of Medical Certificate.
NOTE: - Candidates are advised to get tartar & stains removed from their teeth before appearing for the written test. Ears should be free of wax. Candidates should be prepared to stay for the test for four to five days under their own arrangement. No TA/DA will be admissible.
21. PUBLISHING OF AISL The All India Select List (AISL) will be displayed at 4 Airmen Selection Centre (Near Palta Gate), Air Force Station Barrackpore (West Bengal) on 31 JANUARY 2013. A copy of the Display List will be sent to District Magistrate of Behrampore, Murshidabad (West Bengal) (through Airmen Selection Centre) and also available at Indian Air Force website www.indianairforce.nic.in. The inclusion of names of the candidates in the AISL depends upon the performance of the candidates in the Selection Test.
